Term Three Highlights
Artist in Residence Programme - this week
IIS is lucky to host 3 artists to work with students this week - Mama Charlotte from UAACC in Arusha and 2 performers from Parapanda Theatre Lab will hold intensive lessons with students all week. The culmination will be a student performance and art auction. All proceeds will go toward helping the Iringa Municipal Council protect the ancient rock art recently discovered outside Iringa town.

Students Take Cup
Students have reclaimed the Football Cup, with a 4-3 win over the fathers/teachers in the annual students vs. adults football match. The Mamas, on the other hand, came out on top, with a 2-0 match over the girls' team.

S5 Graduation
The S5 students have successfully completed their IGCSE exams and graduation was held at school on 11th June.

IIS Service Day
For the first time ever, the whole school was involved in a Service Day on 3rd June. Sara and the community service club members organized 8 different projects for students to choose from. Preschoolers did a trash pick-up in and around school, while older students covered the entire neighborhood. Other groups helped at local orphanages and primary schools, planted trees, and delivered bread to hospital patients. The IIS board has recently approved a new policy introducing  a mandatory community service programme for all secondary students.

Dance Off Success
The Community Service Club, with help from the senior student council, started a new tradition with a dance-off between students, parents and teachers to raise money for the community service fund.
